Sell More

Sell More

We’ve compiled some tips to help you sell more so you can start bringing in serious revenue from promo products.

Make It Noticeable That You Sell Promo

Update your current marketing materials.

  • Put promotional products on your website. Don’t have a site? Visit step 5 of Getting Started to find out how we can help.
  • Update your business card to show that you sell promo or, instead of business cards, try giving away promo products (such as stress balls or pens) with your name and contact info on them.

If you have current customers, let them know!

  • Tell them in person.
  • Include promo marketing materials in each order, such as a catalog or sales sheet.
  • Send out an email announcement.
  • Send them a direct mail piece.
  • Update your social media pages in the About section, or post about them (with images!).
  • If you have a storefront, include marketing materials or signs on the counter.

Spend Time on Serious Buyers

Don’t waste time pitching to people who have zero interest. Focus on prospective clients who can answer these questions:

  • What are the products for?
  • How many items do you need?
  • When do you need the items by?
  • How much do you want to spend?

Brand Yourself to Stand Out

This might mean wearing unique shoes, ties or scarves – whatever you decide, it should be something that stands out and gets you recognized.

Think Outside of the Box

You can do this by simply taking common products and putting an interesting spin on them. For example, if you put a photo of a happy wedding couple on a cup, you can sell the item as a rehearsal dinner or reception gift. If you’re creative in truly personalizing the hundreds of products available, people will want to work with you.

Follow up on Time

This is important for every business. Doing what you say you’re going to do in a timely manner shows that you’re a reliable and worthy business partner.

Find New Leads

Ask Your Friends or Relatives.

  • These are the people that know you best. The next time you see them, let them know you now sell promo and ask if they need any items.

Ask for Referrals.

  • Word of mouth is the most effective form of advertising. After an order ask, customers if they know of anyone who could use your services. You can even offer an incentive discount. But be warned: your strategy will only work if you’ve delivered on time and your service is top-notch.

Find Businesses in Your Area.

  • Become a part of business associations like the local chamber of commerce and go to their networking events.
  • Almost all businesses use promotional materials of some kind. Restaurants use menus; car dealers order pens, bumper stickers and license plate frames; schools use branded apparel; etc. Try calling the main number and talking to someone in marketing, HR, sales or events, or try walking in and asking for a one-on-one meeting.
  • Use our Catalog Mailing Program. We have lists of businesses in your area - we’ll send them catalogs with your logo on them and provide you with their contact information so you can follow up. Learn more here.
